This is the last Will and Testament of me Dorothy Rayner
now residing with my Daughter Hannah Caygill at William
Gill in the Parish of Arkengarthdale in the North Riding
of the County of York Widow of the late William Rayner Schoolmaster
of Muker Swaledale in the said North Riding of the County
of York
In manner and form following that is to say I order and
direct that all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expenses
be paid and satisfied by my Executrix and Executor hereinafter
named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease
I give devise and bequeath all and every my Copyhold Lands
Tenements and hereditaments thereunto belonging now held
by me as by Copy of Court Roll No. 8 Dated the 6th of June
1855 in the Manor of Muker in Swaledale in the said North
Riding of the County of York unto my daughter Hannah Caygill
and her husband Joseph Caygill hereinafter appointed Executrix
and Executor of this my Will Nevertheless subject to the
following Order and Conditions that is to say I Order and
direct that they my Executrix and Executor shall sell or
dispose of the said Copyhold Lands Tenements and hereditaments
either by Public Auction or Private Contract as soon as
may be convenient after my decease
And I direct that out of the Money or proceeds of such Sale
Thirteen pounds a year be paid to those of my Sons or Daughters
with which I may have lived from the date of this my last
Will to the time of my death If that event happen before
I have paid off all my late husbands Debts But if I live
to pay of [sic] all my late Husbands debts towards which
I am now paying Ten pounds a year then the Thirteen pounds
a year only to be paid until that time or the time of my
death which event happens first
Also out of the proceeds of such Sale to be paid all my
just debts Funeral [and] Testamentary Expenses Then the
nett proceeds or money which remains after which all has
been paid and satisfied as above directed To be equally
divided among my Sons and Daughters share and share alike
namely William Rayner John Rayner Hannah Caygill wife of
Joseph Caygill Nelly Stoddart Wife of Thomas Stoddart Isabella
Whitaker Wife of John Whitaker and Mary Whitaker Wife of
George Whitaker their heirs and Executors share and share
alike I give and bequeath to unto them as above specified
that is to say the nett proceeds proceeds [sic] of the Sale
of my Copyhold property after all my just debts and the
Thirteen pounds a year paid to those with whom I may have
lived in Consideration for my Board Lodging and attendance
having been paid thereout then the amount which remains
to be divided among my Sons and Daughters as before set
forth in this my Will
I constitute and appoint my Daughter Hannah Caygill and
her husband Joseph Caygill Executrix and Executor of this
my last will and Testament written on this and the preceding
Sheet of paper And lastly I hereby revoke all former wills
by me heretofore made and declare this Instrument Written
as above stated on this and the preceding Sheet of paper
to be my last will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and made
a Mark this Twenty third day of December in the year of
our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Sixty two

Signed by the said Testatrix by making a Mark as her last
will and Testament the contents of the same having been
first read over to her and approved of by her as her last
Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the
same time who at her request in her presence and in the
presence of each other all done at one and the same time
have subscribed our names as witnesses
