Marsden Metcalfe 1840 Hawes

My Ggrandmother was Elizabeth Metcalfe born 1866 in Hawes.She was the daughter of Marsden and Isabella Metcalfe(1842 Hawes).Marsden's parents were William and Elizabeth.
The other children of Marsden were George(1863),Anthony(1870),William(1867),Mary E(1876) and Susannah M(1881).
Does anyone know of this family.
I would also like to know the maiden names of Isabella and Elizabeth.

Had a quick look and it seems that Isabella surname was also METCALFE - it was not unusual as many cousins intermarried and Metcalfe was such a common name.

Marsen and Isabella married in Oct / Nov / Dec quarter in Askrigg North Yorkshire. To gain marriage certificate which will give her fathers name and occupation order certificate :

I have found another Marsden Metcalfe who probably was Marsden and Isabellas son born 1865 Askrigg and died 1871 in Aysgarth.
Marsden Metcalfe born 1840 died in Keighley West Riding Yorkshire Apr-May-Jun 1896.

It looks as though Isabella is the daughter of Warrin Metcalfe born 1818 in Hawes and mother is listed as Jane born 1817 Hawes. Info gathered from 1851 census.
Most likely candidate for Warrins parents are :

John Metcalfe and Isobella Moss as they have Warren Metcalfe christened 19th April 1818 and list his birth as 11th April 1818.

In 1851 census Warren and Jane have other children - Isabella probably named after Warrens mother.

Thomas born 1848
Jane born 1850 [ all born Hawes ]

Most likely candidate for John Metcalfe would be John Metcalfe christened 13 Jan 1793 from Thorns in Hawes parents listed as Thomas Metcalfe and Eleanor Franklin - also attached to this info is that John married Isobel approx 1816.

Thomas Metcalfe and Eleanor Franklin married either Nov 25th 1791 or 1790.

Other children of Thomas and Eleanor are :

Thomas Metcalfe 1791
George Metcalfe 1793
Elizabeth Metcalfe 1797
Richard Metcalfe 1799
Mary Metcalfe 1802

In 1841 census Thomas aged 79 [ birth year 1761 ] [ occupation Farmer ] and Ellen aged 80 [ Eleanor ] are still alive and living at Thorns in Hawes with :

John Metcalfe aged 47
George Metcalfe aged 46

Most likely parents of Thomas Metcalfe born 1761 are Thomas Metcalfe and Elizabeth Dinsdale.

Many thanks for all of the imformation.
I have already got Marsdens marriage certicate but Isabellas parents names are very differcult to read.So i will check out the names you have given me and get her birth cert.
