Descendents of John Daykin (1701-1779) of the Yorkshire Dales in England by Philip Dale Daykin

Private publication, 2005, 330 pages, ISBN 1-57438 059-1

Daykin researchers may be interested in a new book recently published by Phil Daykin of Arizona. Phil's great, great grandfather, Joseph Daykin, married William and Nancy Woodward's daughter, Ann Woodward, in 1829 and they emigrated to America with Ann's parents in 1833.

Beginning with the origin of the Daykin surname, Phil offers details on the family motto and coat of arms. His earliest known ancestor was John Daykin, a miner, born in 1701 and living in Calvert Houses. From this point the author describes each subsequent generation in detail with lots of photographs. Extensive appendices include genealogy reports, old letters, childhood recollections and wills.

Although this is a private publication Phil has thoughtfully lodged copies with various bodies in the UK and USA.
