A reply I had is - quote "hilltop in Gunnerside, it is the first house on the right as you come in from Low Row. you get to it by going up the road to winterings" This fits in exactly to where I had thought it might be.

An image from a 1943 postcard showing a view from Hill Top to Gunnerside has just been added to the web site. I know it would be more helpful if the camera had been facing uphill.
