William Raynard Schoolmaster in Muker

Does anyone have any idea where William Raynard (?1788 - 1846) who was the Schoolmaster in Muker from at least 1823 - 1841+ actually came from? I can find no record of his birth in the Swaledale district and wondered if anyone might have come across any references to him in their research.

I have a copy of the will of Richard Metcalfe of Calverts House Muker and William Raynarde witnessed it. Richard Metcalfe dies in 1823 so this would fit the dates you gave.

There is a book by Edmund Cooper called Muker the story of a Yorkshire parish - it is definately worth taking a look at.
