Researching Cherry family connections to leadmining.

Postby jeff » Wed Nov 26, 2008 7:50 pm

Hi.
I am researching my family connections (Cherry's) with
Low Row/Melbecks.

I know they lived in Low Row in the mid / late 1800s and sons and father were leadminers as i have census results. I am trying to find out which lead mine they would probably have worked at. Could they have travelled some distance or was there a mine close to Low Row? Is there any records relating to workers in each mine?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

if you google the spensleys family this might give you an insight into the mining life of the 1800s
