RICHMOND DISTRICT HIGHWAY BOARD AND THE PROPOSED NEW BRIDGE AT GUNNERSIDE.—Mr Samuel Rowlandson presided over a largely-attended meeting of the waywardens of the Richmond District Highway Board on Saturday. The proposed new bridge at Gunnerside was discussed at considerable length. The Clerk (Mr A. T. Rogers) had been in London, and had gleaned the opinion of the highest authority. It seemed the Board was bound to erect the bridge. For the construction of the bridge the tender of Mr W. Blackburn, of Grosmont, was accepted at a cost of £665 6s 5d. |
