RICHMOND COUNTY COURT.—On Thursday, before His Honour Judge Turner, Francis Heseltine, Gunnerside, sued John Thompson, Rochdale, for a sum of £13 3s, being the balance owing on a bill of £58 3s, which defendant owed plaintiff. Francis Hesletine, Calvert House, said he was a farmer, and at Gunnerside Fair in 1891 sold defendant sheep and lambs, totalling in all £58 3s, of which £30 was paid on November 12th of 1891, and £15 soon afterwards, leaving £13 3s still unpaid. Plaintiff said the lambs belonged to his mother, who has since died, and he acted as her agent. Mr Greathead appeared for plaintiff, and Mr C. G. Croft for the defence. His Honour gave a verdict for defendant with costs. |
