On the 11th instant, as William Harker, of Feetham, near Reeth, was crossing the river Swale with four carts, at a place called Scabbar Wath, where the river is very broad, a flood came suddenly down, and carried away the two hindmost carts: the two first with great difficulty got out; but unfortunately, a woman, named Nancy White, of Feetham, and two horses, were drowned.
