At the petty sessions, held at Richmond, for the division of Gilling West, on Saturday, the 6th instant, present were G. W. Denys and Christopher Cradock Esqs. : Barbara Tilburn, of Arkengarth-dale, innkeeper, was charged with selling beer during divine service. Fined 20s. and costs.—Robert Taylor, of Hipswell, and Thomas Nelson, of Richmond, were charged with trespassing in the the township of Hipswell, in pursuit of game. Fined 40s. and costs, or in default to be imprisoned two months.—Jane Greathend, of Scotton, applied for an order of affiliation to be made upon William Winn, of Brompton-on-Swale. Order granted.—Joseph Buxton, of Gunnerside, was charged with assaulting Thomas Mavo [Marr]. Fined 5s. and costs.—James Franklin, and John Porter, the younger, were charged with trespassing in a certain plantation in the possession of F. Morley, Esq., in search of game. Fined 2s. 6. each and costs.—Ann Whitehead, of Arkengarth-dale appeared for an order of affiliation to be made upon James Whitehead, of the same place. Order granted.—Ann Kipling, of Gilling, applied for an order of affiliation to be made upon Amos Barlow, of Darlington. Order granted.—Hannah Harker, of Thwaite, applied for an order of affiliation to be made upon — Ward, of Reeth. Order granted.
