This is the last Will and Testament of me
Christopher Peacock of Muker in Swaledale in the Parish of
Grinton in the County of York Yeoman First I order all my
just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences [sic] to be paid
and discharged by my Executor hereinafter named
I give and bequeath to my Brother David Peacock his heirs
and assigns for ever All that my Copyhold Estate being at
or within the Manor of Muker in Swaledale aforesaid consisting
of two Closes called Great Foxthwaite amd Little Foxthwaite
with a Cowhouse thereon and Intake and an Allotment thereunto
belonging containing by estimation seven Acres or thereabouts
and three other Closes called Great Foxthwaite Middle Foxthwaite
and Foxthwaite Intake with a Cowhouse thereon and two Allotments
and a Cowhouse thereunto belonging containing together by
estimation by eleven Acres or thereabouts
And I do hereby charge and make chargeable my said Copyhold
Estate as hereinbefore devised to my said Brother David Peacock
with the payment thereout with the several legacies Annuities
and Rent Charge hereinafter given and bequeathed that is to
say I give and bequeath to my Brother Ralph Peacock the clear
Annuity yearly Sum or Rent Charge of six pounds for and during
the term of his natural life
I also give and bequeath to my Sister Alice the Wife of Christopher
Scott the clear Annuity yearly Sum or Rent Charge of Two pounds
ten shillings for the term of her natural life
I give and bequeath to my Nephew Edward Peacock the Son of
my late Brother Thomas Peacock the Sum of Nineteen pounds
nineteen Shillings
I give and bequeath to my niece Nanny Peacock the Daughter
of my late Brother William Peacock the Sum of Nineteen pounds
nineteen shillings to be paid to them severally by my Executor
hereinafter named when they attain to the age of twenty one
years
I also give and bequeath to my Sister Nanny the Wife of Thomas
Kilburn her heirs and assigns for ever One Close called Rigg
with a Cowhouse thereon and one allotment adjoining thereto
containing by estimation half an acre or thereabouts and one
other allotment situate at or near Thwaite containing by estimation
one acre or thereabouts each being held as part and parcel
of the Manor of Muker aforesaid
I also give and bequeath to my aforesaid Sister Nanny the
Wife of Thomas Kilburn all my household Furniture Beds Bedding
Plate Linen and China as may stand and be in my Dwellinghouse
at my decease
I also give and bequeath to my aforesaid Niece Nanny Peacock
the Daughter of my late Brother William Peacock All the Household
Furniture belonging to her late Father the said William Peacock
consisting of the following namely two feather Beds and Bedding
and one Bed stead One Mahogany Card Table and One Clock and
Case
I also give and bequeath to my aforesaid Nephew Edward Peacock
the Son of my said late Brother Thomas Peacock All my Shoemakers
Tools and implements whatsoever and wheresoever I also give
and bequeath to my aforesaid Brother David Peacock the rest
and residue of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and
wheresoever not hereinbefore bequeathed (if any)
I constitute and appoint my said Brother David Peacock Sole
Executor and Residuary Legatee of this my Will hereby revoking
all other wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare
this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this third day
of November One thousand eight hundred and sixty two
